I haven't watched pro basketball in a long time. How long have the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets been a team? Where are they officially based? Also, why are they based in 2 cities rather than one? (Katrina, maybe?) Thanks in advance!!!

im from oklahoma and they have been a team ever since hurican katrina hit new orleans they have became the oklahoma hornets untill they can rebuilt all the gyms in new orleans theu have a base in oklahoma and their base in new orleans i hope this answers your question hope u can answer mine

They have been a team for 5 years, they are officially based at New Orleans, and they are based on 2 cities because of Hurricane Katrina but the team will move back to New Orleans next season

The Hornets used to be in Charlotte until they moved to New Orleans a few years back, they play their games in Oklahoma City due to the devestation to New Orleans from Katrina

they moved to oklahoma city after katrina
they are currently abrv as NOK
they will play all their games next year back at the new orleans arena in new orleans
