Yes, I think it's rude. They are just thinking about money and not about you. I would say it's kind of their problem because if it was me, they would have lost one client because I think it's rude and when (if) you tried speaking to them in english and they do like they don't undertand you its fully laughing in face.
Yes, personally, it's rude.

Yes it is rude. They should speak English in front of their clients. Speaking a language they know their clients do not understand in akin to whispering. Therefore, if they wish to converse in their native tongue they should do so on their break and not in front of clients. Additionally, I find it rude for any person in the service industry to carry on conversations with fellow coworkers over the heads of the clientele. I think it is the height of rudeness when clerks at the supermarket carry on conversations while I'm spending my hard earned money! If they wish to chit-chat they should do it with their customers!

Yes it is really annoying. That has happened to me for then once. The manicurist lady was talking is some different language and as soon as I was about to leave, she says, "That will be $20. Hope you come again soon." And then she went on telling me about some great coupons and deals they had and that I should take one for next time...blah blah....it was just so incredibly rude of her and the others working there....it makes you feel like they are talking about you...

NOOOOO!!!! I speak Vietnamese. They don't talk about the costumers they just talk about the products and which one they should use for each costumer since every one has a different type of nails.

It seems racist since you people expect these people to speak english if they are Vietnamese it would be more comfortable for them to speak Vietnamese and the United States was a place for every one to be free and to be who they want to be. They shouldn't be forced to speak English no one should be forced to speak any language.

How would you feel that every time you went out of the country you forced to speak their language

I find it VERY rude going into any business and having them speak to their co-workers in another language, but even if they speak ENGLISH it is RUDE to ignore your customer and chat with a co-worker with a paying customer standing in front of you. I don't care what language you speak it is TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL.

I know exactly what you're talking about. it would be different if they didn't know english, and couldn't speak it, but they can!
and one day when I was having my nails done, the girl was so rough, she had my fingers bleeding all around the nails! I told her that she was hurting me, and she just acted like she didn't hear me! needless to say, I haven't gone back there again!
I hope you have a Happy New Year!

This is totally rude...nothing like making your guest, who pays your salary and makes your business prosper, feel comfortable...

If I had a business in the service industry, I would make sure my employees focused on the guest, not whatever else they wanted to talk about...in whatever language

kinda, depends on your point of view. it could be, if you think speaking different language then telling you to pay in english is rude then yes, but if you think that it is not rude and that they do that to get paid, then no.
