I do hereby accept the car. (My understanding is that I do not have to pay taxes on the car, whereas I would have to pay taxes on $60,000 if I accept the cash award).

The money. You can use the money for other things and use any other money you had to buy a new car. Plus, the money will make more of a difference in the quality of your life. The car will only be good for what, a couple of years?
