if you recently had your hot water tank fixed it's possible you have air in your lines. to fix that turn on all your faucets for about 10minutes or so. when the sputtering of the water out of the faucet stops your good. if none of your faucets spuder to begin w/ then off to home depot you go for some plumbing hangers.

Actually i agree with both of the first answers. but its funny .. I love this sound..I grew up with it since we were poor and lived in house most of the time that were old..we never worried about it too much .. I think the sound is kool..and where else can you make a noise with something like that . but they are right eventually it will cause the pipes problems.if you get a plummer out or a friend that knows what the problem is they may can just bleed the line of air with litte or no effort then again it could be a small leak bringing air into the system..

it may not be air, but a loose pipe. when pipes get loose from the wall or floor structure they are tied to, to prevent vibration, they will pound against the wall structure instead of being held tight. it isn't a big problem, but the noise is telling yoiu something isn't right and needs attention. since it is only that faucet, then getting it tied back down shouldn't be much trouble.
this is a common problem in mobile homes after several years of operation.

Air hammering is very bad for the pipes in your home, but you can buy arresters at home depot or lowes.

When I've had a big meal people say I have air in my pipes.

But why should I care, I can leave the room.
