Welll, we have IE7 and find it an improvement over IE6. The tabs are the best thing, probably. We had no problem on installation nor since. We downloaded from the official Microsoft site.

Well, I think the "cons" far outweigh the "pros" at this time. From what I've been reading, a lot of folks that have installed IE7 have wound up with web pages that won't display, sound that doesn't play, etc, etc. I'm not knocking IE7; I just think it's another one of Microsoft's products that will be patched quite a few times, and as long as IE6 works reliably, I'll stick with that until I see that IE7 has been patched enough so that an upgrade is worthwhile.

I recommend using the Firefox browser. However if you choose or need to use IE there is only one reason not to go ahead and upgrade to IE 7. That reason is compatibility. If you use a website or web-based application that does not yet support IE 7 then don't upgrade. The only way to know is to ask the webmaster or application developer if they work with IE 7. For the rest of the world go ahead and upgrade. Then DON'T use it and get Firefox :

Have used both, and Firefox seems to be the better of the two. You may still have to upgrade to IE 7, since some software you could install on you computer might require it in the future. For example, when we installed Norton Antivirus on our computers at work we had to upgrade a lot of them to IE 6, and future editions might require IE 7.

I definitely don't recommend it. We had a guy who downloaded and try to install it and it messed up his computer so bad he had to do a rebuild last I heard. I don't use it and now that I've heard some of the cons I definitely won't use it. By the way be on the look out in Windows Automatic Updates cause they have stuff it in there so that it will install IE7 without your permission unless you have it set to only notify you when updates are available. Usually though Windows Automatic Updates download updates and install them at a certain time at night or when you specify. I would check your setting by going to Start > Control Panel > Automatic Updates > and change it to the notify, but don't download and install them. option. Or you can right click My Computer > Goto Properties > and Automatic updates tab. I would check your setting for notify, but don't download and install them. Then when ever you see a little windows icon by your clock click on it and do a custom install go through there and if you see IE7 un-check it and install all other updates. Also I would recommend Mozilla Fire-Fox over IE7.

I've used both, and the 'tabbed browsing' is a mere knock off from Firefox, It's not worth it because of it's default settings using way too many resources, long with compatibility issues. If you MUST use IE, than keep using IE6, not the new 7, and I still recommend Firefox over that.

Don't upgrade to IE 7. Everyone that has been downloading it, has have been having lots of problems with it. Like not being able to view some websites. Personally, I would choose another web browser, like Firefox.

Hope that helps.

Well I use it daily so i really do not have anything bad to say about it, but you cannot delete your search history but I do not know, unlike Mozllia Firefox in which you can. Personally I like IE 7 becuase its a crisp new fresh look browser.

I like FireFox much better.....and it is much more secure than IE.

You can get it free at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/
for those English speaking folks.
