The trial was far from finished, and many questions regarding US involvement in Iraq since the eighties seem to remain "conveniently" unanswered.
And, oh, please don't reply as if the present Iraqi "government" had any power to decide anything. Let's be sincere with each others.

I REPEAT: please don't reply as if the Iraqi government had any degree of autonomy.

Sociald: A powerful army occupies a country and it is "conspiracy theory" to suspect it could have an influence on the government? You're funny.

I believe the reason to kill Saddam when they did was because the milestone of the 3,000th troop being killed in Iraq was coming up and they wanted to have something "positive" to talk about to counter the feelings of many of the people that 1 US soldier killed in this military expedition was too much.
Saddam was a US puppet until the first Bush adminstration betrayed him when he got our permission to invade Kuwait. Not that I am a fan of Saddam but Kuwait was slant drilling into Iraqi oil fields and Saddam did meet with April Glaspie the US ambasador to discuss any reprocussions he might face should he invade Kuwait and April Glaspie told Saddam.
By killing Saddam (if that really was Saddam...) the US has stirred up the Hornets nest in Iraq making Bush's demand for more troops much easier to swallow for a congress that is interested in keeping the lid on Iraq...after all the Democrats did vote for the war with almost as much zeal as the Republicans.

It is known worldwide, except for some in the U.S., that Iraq (read the US) chose a particular case which would not implicate the U.S. being an accessory to the alleged crimes committed by President Saddam Hussein.
The refusal of Iraq (read the US) to have President Saddam Hussein tried under international scrutiny made it abundantly clear to the world what a mock trial it was;it was designed to suppress all sorts of american involvement in murdering those civilians which president Saddam Hussein has been accused of.
The masked faces prove the presence of Mossad and US officials.

Just say NO! to unfounded conspiracy theories!
Are you part of the current Iraqi government? If not, how could you possibly know that the Iraqi government was not in control of Saddam's trial & execution.
Your pessimism has blinded you.

And, oh, please try and not 'just' listen to conspiracy theories. Lets be honest with yourself. Sincerety that isnt grounded in rational thinking is pointless.
If the USA decided Saddams fate in court it would have been life in prison , they never would have killed him. A rational person knows that given public opinion and the overall temperance that he would not have been executed by the USA.

Then you are to be disappointed as it was Iraqi law and Iraqi courts that convicted and hanged him. The US would rather not have made a martyr of him and tried him for more crimes.
And what about Ezekiel 38,39. There are still lots of prophecies to be fulfilled before Armageddon. Israel must have all it's land back, the war on Israel by Gog and Magog for example

The country of Iraq does have its own legally elected government and an autonomous legal system. The US is not an occupying force, it is a security force.
If they wanted Saddam out of the way why not cap him in the spider hole? Or have him suicide in his jail cell prior to the trial? There was plenty of time for him to say incriminating things (if any exist) way prior to his execution by the government of Iraq.

Please is this question for real? How much more this man need the evidence was on film of his genocide. Why continue the trial did he have a trail for the people he killed and their families? NO Remember the Mideast law are way different the U.S they believe an eye for eye. They don't mess around when it comes to criminals. We are use to the criminals staying in pirson for 20 yrs before execution.

It never ceases to amaze me how easily you folks are able to see deep, dark, evil conspiracies in everything America does. Is there no good?
It's as if America is full of crafty, conniving, evil dark forces and only YOU (and those as brilliantly insightful as you) can save us common citizens (and the rest of the world) from our childish naivete.
If only we weren't such a bunch of America-first, dumb-as-a-rock, FOX News loving, Bible-thumping, uneducated, red-state-voting conservative dullards.
Sorry, but I just can't find the wherewith all to pity myself and my country as much as you do. If you're not one of the nearly 4 million Muslims living in France you sure sound like one.
I guess you gotta hate somebody...right?

Of course not. We DIDN'T kill him! The Iraqi govt did. Let's be sincere. Iraq is a sovereign country & their govt makes its own decisions. If it had been up to Bush, don't you think Saddam would have had his neck stretched the 1st week in November?

You are the who refuses to be sincere. The IRAQI government tried him and executed him. The current trial was his SECOND trial, he had already been found guilty in his first one and had just lost his appeals. I know many of you bleading heart liberals refuse to accept reality.
