i've been using slim regulars for a while now, and up until my last period they have worked just fine. on my last one i went through one in almost 45 minutes as opposed to the usual 4 hours. i don't want to go to the bathroom every half hour to check myself. can any of you tell me if regulars are that much larger and if its really that big of change. my moms not much help because she grew up using pads and the only tampons she uses are super jumbo things which i think are a tad to large for me. any help would be appreciated.

no i don't really have any other symptoms. just a really heavy flow and bad back pains.

you're smart to start of with the slims and work your way up once you realize what days you could use something larger. If you think you can use a larger one, go for it, sounds like you have a good head on your shoulders and know what you're doing. I would take it in steps though, not just jump to the super jumbos.

well if you have a sudden change in the flow that persists u might want to consider getting a check up just to be safe. Otherwise i would say tampons aren't very suitable for the "area" they can actually contribute to yeast infections and such. But as most of the others said moving up one larger is a start. *don't ask how i know this lol* longgggg story

If, you're leaking & bleeding through you need to go to a larger size. There wouldn't be a problem using regular tampons.
I would keep an eye on your bleeding, is everything else normal?
You don't have any other symptoms?

The important thing here is that you "familiarize" yourself with whats available to you. Natural flows can have a way of changing things beyond your expectations. Preperation for all circumstances will lead you to a wide variety of remedies if you chose to open your self to the thought of your station in life at this time. No worries mate!

regulars work fine for me usually - its very rare that i ever have to use anything like a super or super plus -but everyones different. with me the lites and slims dont work well unless im almost done my period
