You don't want to seperate the pups from their mother. You have to face the fact that there is a possibility that she may eat them. Unfortunately its nature. Our gerbil had babies and made a wonderful mother. Just the mother and her pups... the father, seperate him.

Don't touch them unless its necessary. Stay out of the process and hope you have a good mother. Once they grow fur and open their eyes they will start eating on their own. At that point its alright to handle them, but be careful. The mother may not let you touch her babies! She may be very protective of them. It should be about 4-5 weeks before you should handle the pups. In the meantime, try to spot clean the cage. Make sure they have material to make a nest or make one for them since it will be difficult for the mom to do so now.

Enjoy the experience!!

Leave them alone as much as possible. Try not to touch them or clean the cage for the first few days. If you can, keep the male hamster separately from the mom and her babies. Hamsters are either really good moms or really bad ones. It might be possible that the mom will eat her babies if you handle them. Otherwise, there's not much that you have to do. Just put some hamster pellets on the bottom of the cage, they should start eating solid food in the next couple of weeks. Don't worry, they grow up fast!

Ask your aunt to look that up, because hamsters do eat their babies. I had a hamster who the guy who sold her to us, told us she wasn't pregnant. A couple of months went by, and we saw these little babies in the cage. She started eating one, then another. My mom freaked out, and flushed the babies down the toilet. It was sad, but we didn't know what to do. I know to read what to do, before every having a pregnant hamster again.

Separate the parents, the Dad will attack the babies after they are born usually. Also, make sure they get used to the human touch (as long as your hands are always clean), that way they are well socialized for when they grow up! My sister and I had baby hamsters, they were very cool to see grow up but after we separated them we couldn't put them back together or they'd fight. Good luck and have fun!

Just put a lot of cotton balls in the tank or whatever you have and place them in the Cotton they'll stay warm there I've done that myself.Another thing you might want to separate them because there are times that the father might eat the babies if not it's the other way around!!!! lol!!!

I'll gladly take them to feed my Burmese python. Monty loves a good hamster snack once in a while.

don't leave the babies in the cage with the parents! the parents will EAT THEM! you need to put the babies in a tupperware container instead. then just wait for them to grow. once they're too big, you can put them in something else, like their own cage or a fish tank. but not with fish in it!
