Does East Coast Basball get more media coverage? It seems that way sometimes, but I was just wondering what everyone else thinks.

Of course they do because the East is the traditional power house for baseball. They have the biggest fan bases which means ratings. That is the reality. Red sox v Yanks equals ratings. Nothing else comes close. I am not saying this is fair but it is a reality

I really don't know because I live on the east coast and don't know what coverage is for the west coast papers, television, etc.
As far as ESPN they are based in Connecticut so maybe they are a bit biased but I don't really see it. They do cover the Yankees and Red Sox because they are storied teams as someone else mentioned. Also, we get them blocked here and get west coast or central division games. Maybe that is why you get East coast games. Suggest you get a baseball package if that is the problem. I can't live with out radio and tv sports coverage of all the teams. have a great day.

If you live on the East Coast, of course you will...just like if you live on the West Coast, you will get tons of media coverage out there. Generally speaking I don't think it matters. It may SEEM that way because of whatever dealings the Yankees or Red Sox do, but coverage is generally equal

I live in the Midwest and I can say that I believe it is biased, especially at the Eastern Seaboard Propaganda Network. (ESPN.) 2 years ago the White Sox led wire to wire but they didn't get much press until the slide at the end of the season. Same went for the Tigers last year, not much press till the slide. I do believe they are catering to the masses because the East coast probably does have a lot more fan base then any other, which equals your ratings. So as much as it sucks, I somewhat understand why.

Amen in the completed placed up. As an Indians fan, I asked myself that very comparable question approximately why the Indians can't get their 2nd interior the sunlight. The Indians strengthen to the ALCS however the right tale is Torre. think of ESPN might have achieved a reversal if Larry Dolan had pronounced the two Mark Shapiro or Eric Wedge are fired if the Indians do no longer take the sequence? Heck - maximum individuals do no longer even know who they're. we don't get to be certain quite some west coast communities, in all probability because of the time differential. while the Indians play on the west coast, the newspapers are no longer as much as date...and so on. because of the time difference. A "activities" station like ESPN needs to cut back the unfairness, each and every of ways around. in the previous the Indians won the AL significant, ESPN announcers pronounced if the Indians did no longer win it by potential of triumphing outright they might sneak interior the back door with Tigers losses -at that factor Cleveland basically had to win one game or Detroit lose one game. even if if, the Indians had a SEVEN game lead interior the branch so wtf exchange into that approximately sneaking interior the back door? those announcers are so biased it is sickening. it is not basically dissing the west coast yet any team no longer manhattan or Boston or perhaps even Atlanta and that's extremely incorrect.

i don't think so, im on the east coast. Of course each city is going to get more about its own team, my city doesn't have a team..

But all I have been hearing about recently is Bary Zito and San Fransisco, which is all on the west coast.

It usually does cause of the Yankees and Red Sox. I feel ESPN shows way too many Yankee and Red Sox games while not showing teams that would seem more exciting (Mets, Tigers, Twins).
