You must have classmates/co-workers, or family, or neighbors... Invite someone (or several people) over, or suggest going somewhere. Happy New Year!

Hi, it is a New Year!!! I wasn't sure where Phila was so I googled it and found that it is in the US - I'm in Australia so I do not know of any venues in your area. However, I may be able to help - consider this question; what if I die tomorow? - I know it is morbid but would you be glad that you spent your last evening sitting on the couch when you could have been out partying and having fun. Secondly, you should not rely on others for your hapiness or plans - dont worry about your friends - consider this a time for you - a New Year where you will concentrate on your needs rather than others - a year where you will be secure enough to get off that couch put on your best outfit dress up then do whatever you want to do! get on a plane and travel? go pick up a frat boy, run around spraying people partying in the city with water pistols or ink. Any thing you want - if you are insecure and timid and don't feel confident going out by yourself get drunk first, thats what I do - then I go out on my own, have a blast and make about 20 new friends. Happy New Year remember life is what u make it, so make it fun and Happy! - unless your couch disagrees (I am kidding beautiful) Peace out

Invite someone over or throw an impromptu party. There must be some people you're acquainted with, that you'd like to know better, like a neighbor lady. What about a church function? They usually have watch parties, or something of that sort. Check your local newspaper for New Year's Eve activities that you can attend solo. If all else fails, rent a movie and order a pizza to be delivered. Then when the delivery guy comes, invite him in. (Just kidding!) Good luck, and Happy New Year!

Well I have been in this position (sort of) before...I was travelling for work and out of town over NYE...first, have a positive attitude and tell yourself that you are going to have fun even if you are alone...and second, you won't be alone for long as NYE is just one big party.....decide what you want to do...live music? Dancing? Small comfy bar? Nice restaurant? I didn't feel like dressing up too much, so I went to Downeys (in your area on South St)....told everyone I was all alone...and I ended up having a great time and meeting a lot of people! Also, I have a friend that swears by Craigslist...she travels a lot also, and cruises that list for people getting together......please do go out and enjoy the nite....or you could always call your friend and suck it up and put your tiff aside......have fun!

I hear ya sister!! If you are single, you can check the web to see if any singles are meeting up in your area on NYE. Or you can check to see if there are any activities going in your area. For instance there are fireworks in a nearby park or something like that. Last option is going to Atlantic City. Millions of parties down there. Good luck and Happy New Year!

Sitting in the house is the best thing to do. Are you aware of how many people die on New Years eve because of crime and accidents which are related to the holiday?
