Many people hear that the PS3 is the more powerful system and assume that it will have the best graphics. This is not true. The PS3 is more powerful in terms of processing power, but the 360 has a better graphics card. While the PS3 may be able to have more things happening on the screen at one time, the nicer looking picture is on the 360. So far every game that is on both the 360 and the PS3 looks better on the 360.

As far as which one to buy, I would go with the 360. There are very few PS3 games right now. Because the 360 has a larger user base and is easy to develop for, most multi-platform games are developed for the 360 and then ported to PS3. This means that most likely games will run better on 360. The only reason to get a PS3 is if you are a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, which will most likely not appear on 360.

To tell the truth, Xbox 360 has better graphics. Don't buy a PS3, it sucks. You can buy a 360 AND a wii for only 50 bucks more than a PS3. the 360 has better games, e.g. gears of war, NFS: most wanted, kameo EOP, oblivion, the list goes on....

but if you want the real deal go and buy a wii. It's affordable, and innovative. Plus, it's about half the size of an Xbox 360. It has great games like the remarkable LOTZ twilight princess. Anything but a PS3...

Buy the xbox 360 if you want the best graphics right now. Sooner or later the PS3 should have something that outshines the 360 though, but who knows when that'll be or if the difference will be a big leap or not. So far Gears of War has the most impressive graphics of any system out there. Plus the game is pretty fun too.

The PS3 is technically capable of displaying better graphics, but it's all up to the talent of the programmers. If the programmer don't know what they're doing, then expect some really bad graphics, but if you have someone who knows what he/she is doing, then expect some great graphics.

If you like first person shooter, then go with the 360 because I don't think the PS3 is going to have that many FPS. The 360 is catered to the American gamer, and most American gamers love FPS, so expect a lot of FPS for the 360.

If you like RPG, then go with the PS3. The 360 isn't going to get that many RPG because most RPG games are made by Japanese gaming companies, and since the 360 is a miserable failure in Japan, they're not going to make games for the 360.

PS3. Wait a few months for the selection to get better. I got an Xbox last month and you can't play it 30 minutes without the console overheating.
