when i first started my period years ago i also got unimaginable cramps.... i would lay in bed shaking and crying for hours and turn white and throw -up it was terrible...
there wasnt much i found to do i tryed the excercising and it made it even worse i took midol cramp formula which helps a little especially if you take it immiediatly at the first sign of on-coming cramps... but midol cramp formula was the only medicine i found that worked alright,,,, after i had my first child the cramps werent so bad anymore.... plus i truely believe experiencing such terrible pain actually made the pain of labor much more bearable since i was already use to that kind of pain.... i have heard birth control pills help but they never did anything for me.... you can speak with your dr. or gynocologist and see if they know something that may help? otherwise i think you may just have to go through it they get better with age... and make you stronger... seriously!

When I was around 13 I would get the pain from my period too. I actually came close to fainting once. The best advice I can give, which has helped me greatly, is to start taking the midol or motrin about three days before you get your period. That way it is in your body working already. Try to also exercise, like running or lifting weights. If none of this helps, see your doctor. Pain can mean other problems besides a period. Good luck and happy new year!

It's good to do some kind of activity like yoga, swimming or running. Stay well hydrated, drink lots of water.
Making dietary adjustments starting about 14 days before a period may help some women with certain mild menstrual disorders, such as cramping. The general guidelines for a healthy diet apply to everyone; they include eating plenty of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoiding saturated fats and commercial junk foods.
Low-Fat, High-Fish Diets. If you eat foods with a higher intake of omega 3 fatty acids (fat compounds found in oily fish, such as salmon and tuna) which lessen menstrual pain. Also, supplements of fish oil appeared to reduce heavy bleeding in adolescent girls.
Salt Restriction. Limiting salt may help minimize bloating.
Reducing Caffeine & Sugar. Reducing caffeine & sugar intake may be beneficial.
Hope this helps. :)

Start working out, yes, every day, go to the gym and start doing cardio and lifting weights.
I know of 2 girls has the same problem, spent 2 days every month, moaning and groaning in bed. The doctor recommended daily activity. They started going on a tread mill for 30-40 minutes every day and lifted weight every other day, within 3 months, they no longer had a problem with cramps.

The best way to ease your mind and answer your questions is to go to a doctor and be checked out. Although you're young, you could have endometriosis, which causes severe pain during mentruation.
Sometimes it helps to take Ibuprofen before your period starts, when you're having symptoms and know it will start soon. Taking it regularly will help keep the pain from getting out of control.

see if you can get on birth control, like seasonal, where you only have your period once every 3 months. I had a girlfriend who got really bad cramps like that and her doctor suggested masturbating when nothing else seemed to work, because having an orgasm causes contraction of the muscles around the uterus which causes the cramps to ease up, and she said it worked. Also, try eating a banana.

going on a form of birth control will lighten you period and ease cramps associated with it, it sounds drastic but it works. half of girls your age go on it to regulate their periods and diminish the pms and cramps. i did it too. makes them shorter as well! talk to your mom about it, chances are she had them that bad too
