I was searching through limewire and found songs that listed both bands as the singers, looking at pics of them i thought they looked similar, i assumed they changed the band name over time.

nope they are not the same band...The Jonas Brothers just redid some of Busted songs like Year 3000 and What I Go to School For. Busted has James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis in the band and the Jonas Brothers are brothers named Kevin Jonas, Joseph (Joe) Jonas and Nicholas (Nick) Jonas

Nope . The Jonas Brothers covered some Busted songs though (Year 3000 and What I Go To School For)
