You can have many friends. But you only need 1 best friend. You only tell you personal business to your best friend. Never make the mistake that you can share your personal business with a lot of people and think they won't talk about it. They will.

Work on finding 1 best friend. If you find more friends after that--good, if not, oh well.
1 best friend is better than 100 friends.(remember, quality is better than quantity)

Have had my best friend since we were 10 years old--that is 41 years now.

It is really hard to find true friends. Sure there are lots of people who pretend they are, but after a while they are found out. I believe their are still some good people somewhere in the world. Or at least I hope there are. I believe that the people I was friends with in highschool were true friends. After highschool I have had an extremely hard time trying to find anymore. I've talked with others and they seem to agree with this statement. Well anyway, good luck! If Your "friends" are in fact spreading around stuff that they said they'd keep secret then no, they aren't true friends.
Unless of course it was a life or death situation and they were telling secrets to keep you or someone else from being harmed.
Oh and don't believe all that stuff about "if you are a good friend then you'll get good friends" It doesn't seem to always work that way. I've listened to my friends troubles,I've helped people out when they needed it as far as money or something else,I've done everything you can think of to be a good friend and still these people just don't like me...That is, until the next time they need money or a shoulder to cry on.
You just need to find yourself some better friends.

we have all been where you are and still am. Please try your best not to become too untrusting of others. Now that you have learnt one of life's many lessons, don't tell all "your friends" your personell stuff. Some of your friends will always disapoint you in the privacy area but as you learn who you can trust, those friends will always be there for you.
Remember that this issue is a life long battle.....no matter how old you are, this will always be an issue. On the bright side....you will know in your heart when a friend is truely keeping your secrets.
Be well and smile

Yeah, you are always going to have diffrent types of people In and out of your life. It's all about how you deal with the situation and leave drama out of your life. Believe me when a true friend comes around you'll know!

I live by the motto - Trust Nobody - I have only 3 true friends... my best friend is my twin sister, my husband and then a pal that has stuck by my side through thick and thin... true friendships are hard to come by. Cherrish those you have.

A true friend would not tell a secret if you asked unless it was something you are doing to harm yourself. If your are a young girl, your classmates could be mean. Girls are so clickous and will do almost anything to be popular. Have your inner strength and be your own person.

I think we have different degrees of friends, and it's tough to find even one that has all the qualities you'd like. Perhaps in time you'll gain more patience in dealing with them. I don't blame you for being aggravated, though. People can be a pain.

It all depends on the person. Some people are like that - I totally agree. But there are some people you could really trust out there who really won't tell anyone.
