they never last long anyway, but it has been a few months. Could something be wrong? I know i'm not pregnant and I am not anorexic. Any suggestions?

I'm a nurse. Stress could be the reason if you are sure you're not pregnant. I would call the doctor just to give him the heads up on what's going on with you, it might be something wrong. It's really hard to say without additional information.

Well if depends on how old you are I guess or how many months you've been getting your period for. If you're new to this, it's perfectly normal for the first half year to be alittle shaky, it'll all get on it's own path soon enough, if you've had it for a while, then it could either be that you're coming down with the flu, or that you may have some other sickness. I suggest that you consult a doctor if that's the case. Hope I could help, and good luck!

I would recommend seeing your doctor and asking him/her to have your thyroid tested. I have thyroid problems and when its not well-maintained it really messes up my periods. It is not uncommon for a woman with thyroid problems to have menstrual problems-including missed periods. Good luck!

Kate: I see what the other people here have written about stress and, although that can impact on your periods, it usually doesn't stop them altogether.

Go to a doctor. You might have what my mother is having troubles with right now. you get blood clots, causing you not to have your period, which can be very unhealthy. Get it checked as soon as possible.

Have you lost a significant amount of weight lately?
Are you exercising more? Female athletes loose their menses due to lack of body fat. I would also go for a check-up with your doc, to make sure everything is o.k.

it depends. it could be the bc you're taking if you are taking them. if you are exercizing a lot, that could have something to do with it too. ultimately you should see your doctor about it because you need to figure out why you're not having one.
