I am also a NOBLE DRUG USER.... and honestly drugs help keep me sane at times when i might just fly off the handle.. they inspire my writing and they dull the pain of everyday existance.. it is only wrong when you over do it or do it for the wrong reasons.. I dont do drugs because i need them i do drugs because i like the buzz.. love the question an the quote will stick with me forever because to me honestly time is an illusion you never know when it will end so we might as well have fun while we can

you dont seem to mention that virtually all teh folks on your list which is far from complete, are dead..which is a major bi tch when youre being creative. yes drugs expand the consciousness, but at what cost to the individual? the candle whichs burns twice as bright burns half as long... theres nothing wrong with drugs in the same way theres nothing wrong with a kalashnikov... used correctly they are begine and harmless..used any other way, they kill people, ad hoc, willy nilly hither and yon... some folks do different drugs, alcohol kills thousands a year, tobacco, possibly more... people know the risks...and we pplay roulette with our lives..by choice.
and that choice lets me say NO when i want to. it also lets me say yes, should i want to... its knowing the difference which is the tricky bit... some folks dont get a second chance.... remember that. remember janis joplin, john belushi and sid vicious... the inxs lead singer michael hutchens, kurt cobain, etc etc.

Okay, you are on drugs now right? the creative people you speak about are dead and they all ruined their lives with drugs. So much more creativity was squelched by their use of drugs. And then there is the squandering of money and the crime created in order to get drugs.... What a waste... and you are helping to create the waste land.

Drugs kill you, can have horrible side effects, and it may be pleasurable at first but soon it just becomes something you need to survive. You're not brave or noble, just stupid, and nobody owes you anything.
