Use Coca Cola that is what we also use to get bugs off...works great....make sure your rinse well.... Coca Cola is amazing, I am sure Pepsi may work also but never used it...there is an enzyme in the product that does not effect the paint but works on sap. Wax immediately after.
Saw the next answer...WD40 is great but does work against the integrity of the paint as it has a petroleum base in it.
As far as the warm water...that actually smears the sap and makes a larger spot.

With pine pitch,I'd try using real turpentine, not "turpatine."
It will remove waxes & such, but if left on the finish long enough,
I'd think that the pine pitch would "etch" it's way into the car's
finish & cause damage that'd be difficult to repair.
Any type of tree sap can cause damage to a car's finish, but, pine
sap has it's own type of thinner that can reek havoc on the best
of factory finishes.
Better yet, visit an auto parts store that caters to the body-shop
community.Explain your problem,& I'm sure that they can come
up with a solution for you,such as,DuPont Prep-Sol or a product
from a competitore.

Buy "Goo Gone" works on all sticky things and doesn't hurt the surface, try a spot of paint in an out of sight place just to be sure first. Or- use gasoline!, it won't hurt the paint or all the gas stations would be sued when people over fill their tanks..

if you look on a can of WD-40, it says you can use it to do that.
I tried it and it worked very well.
