No, I understand the approval part. But if we are to live in society peacefully, should we not simply go out into the world with a more "I am gay, get over it!" type of attitude. This would be in contrast to the more: "I am gay, I want you to know that because not only do I want marriage rights like everyone else, I want you to accept me with open arms. Let's hug!!". Seriously! IF we really want gay marriage, well than we should participate in society as any straight person should and become a normal fixture in society. Once we reach this point it would only be natural for the government to grant us marriage rights .

Penny Mae: I have read the Bible cover to cover. Do you not realize that centuries of Catholic monks and other "religious" figures edited and re-wrote that document in an effort to perusade to their charges that the actions they adopted (such as homosexualism, etc.) were illegal under the religious denomination? AND to impart guilt and shame onto those whom the religious figures cannot control? I don't believe that God would make a person whom He did not love.

Because the second we stop raising a ruckus, they'll go back to ignoring us. If we all just calm down, they're not just going to hand us equal rights. That's not how things work. In short, we make our sexualities (or gender identities, since we're including transfolk in name, may as well actually pay attention to them) "such big issues" because THEY make them a big issue. My right to simply EXIST is automatically somehow political, so it's only natural that I'm going to address the politics involved.

Mostly because it keeps being thrown BACK in our faces. I would love never having to stand up for myself or anyone else again. But, when someone starts going off on gays, I'm sorry, I'm not going to sit there and let them denigrate us and no one stand up. I won't. By doing that you do what they want, as the old saying goes, "silence equals consent." And I will not consent to being made a 2nd or 3rd class person just because they "don't like" who I love.

-Straights? i'm instantly so I easily ought to assert i love them -Gays? I easily haven't any challenge with adult men that are gay -Lesbians? I easily haven't any challenge with any female lesbian or not Bisexuals? If someone is interested in both sexes, extra skill to them -Transgenders? nicely seeing considering i'm a Transsexual female and TS falls lower than the Transgender umbrella i imagine we are great.

i don't make a big deal at all. sexual orientation is a very personal and private thing.. anybody who goes around bragging, whether they are gay, straight, or bi, is just looking for attention in the wrong way..

my sexuality is on a needs-to-know basis. unless i am interested in someone sexually, then i generally will not discuss sex or sexuality..

They have nothing else to do, but we aren't the judge of anyone, only God can do that, so if it is an issue with u, get over it and get on with u'r life.

I think in some sense sub consciously they are trying to justify their actions, and want acceptance to assure them that they are okay.
Also, there is a huge gay agenda and pro gay propaganda that promotes dissent ion and attack for those who choose a non gay belief or lifestyle.

They want approval from society. That is obvious and very clear.
