My EXs mother contacts me every three or four weeks.
My ex hated that she would email me. Today, after the 4th time that she has contacted me in the last 2 months or so, I asked her that we might fall out of touch. It makes my ex come to mind every time she contacts me, and I just don't like thinking about her. Plus, I know that my ex doesn't like for us to talk. Was it wrong for me to explain that, and ask this to just end? Was I being anal?

Not at all. It seems your ex doesn't communicate with his mother much. If it falls to you to have to communicate with her, so be it, else it'll go on and on. His mother will bug her son's next gf.

Not at all. I had to do the same about two weeks ago. My ex's mom would e-mail me and still sign in "mom". I had to ask her to stop and tell her that it was nothing against her, it was just too painful of a reminder of what I've been thru. I was lucky and she understood. Good luck!

You were being honest is all. And really, why would your ex's Mom want to talk to you so often? You and your ex are split up now. Maybe she is just being nosy!

If the woman liked you, and called you just to find out how you were doing and keep in touch, then I think you were harsh with her. But in the end you have to do what your comfortable with.

No, it wasn't wrong. Of course I don't know why she contacted you in the first place but if you don't want to hear from her then you did the right thing.

The ex's mom must be quite fond of you. Perhaps it wasn't right or wrong of you to do that, just something that needed to be said.

If you did not enjoy the contact then you have every right to place a boundary.

No it just shows that you got guts enough to know that something doesn't feel right and you have to speak up for that and that's called having a backbone.
