It won't matter what kind of people they are in the beginning.
They will become molded by the impossible decisions they will have to make, and the lives they have to live, and will still collect a list of detractors whose interests were not served.
I go to our small city council meetings and see what our local municipalities face every month. A simple topic like whether or not to Turf a football field generates death threats. Given that - its no wonder our politicians become criminals - its self defense.

Well considering change would be nice.... The kind of people that should become politicians should be honest, caring, compassionate. This would definitely be a step up from the crooks and liars we are used to.

The exact opposite of the kind of people who usually DO become politicians. They shoud want to serve, not want to have power.

I don't think anyone should become a politician. I think we should do away with all the politicians, and replace them all with true public servants.
