South Africa is a tropical country.
It is extended between 18 deg south to 35 deg south.
Tropic of capricorn passes through it.

South Africa does get a lot of sunlight. The equator does not run through South Africa, but it does run through the the continent of Africa. South Africa is country as well.

Depending on where you are in africa, but the closer you are to the equator the more average and balanced the days are. For example it will be about 12 hours day and 12 hours night with very little variance. But near the south there will be more of the seasonal change, where in the northern hemispheres winter they will be getting more sunlight than the 12/12 hour balance in the north part of the continent.
