Eating black-eyed peas on New Year's Day will bring good luck and a lot of wealth.
Basically, if you're born on this day then you will have good luck.
Always be happy on New Year's Day for a nice and happy year.
Kiss and show love and care to your family and relatives for a good year of happiness and warmth. If you don't, the year could be full of coldness towards you.
Do not pay loans or anything dealing with money on New Year's Day as to if you do, your entire year may be paying bills all the time.

3. Jingle coins at the stroke of midnight for more money throughout the year.
4. Make a lot of noise at the stroke of midnight for happiness throughout the year.
5. For small people (like me), they have to jump many times at the stroke of midnight in order to increase their height during the new year.
There are still so many superstition beliefs, but those are all that I can remember.

In the south, we eat hog jowl, black eyed peas, and boiled cabbage. These are supposed to bring health, wealth, and happiness throughout the year.
