Throughout the history of mankind, we as a world culture have made love out to be mysterious, complex, difficult, and undefinable. It’s the subject of endless poems and literary works. There is an enormous amount of material available out there about love, a lot of it contradictory.

We’ve been given the impression that to define love is near to impossible. Maybe there’s a fear that if we define it, it would somehow be less powerful...less impactful...less exhilarating. Maybe we like the mystery of it. But is it really that complicated? Perhaps the complications surrounding love come from all “stuff” we add on to this powerful emotion. Lets drop all the baggage surrounding relationships and define what it is we are experiencing in the moment of love.

Love is like a beautiful glass bowl filled with ice cream. The bowl has cracks. You don't know if there's broken glass in it. But it's so cold & sweet. It's the most delicious treat you've ever tasted in your life. You enjoy every spoonful even though you're constantly fearful you'll swallow broken glass and be hurt. It's a gamble. But you want it so much. It's so tempting. It's the sweetest thing you've ever tasted & you never want it to end. It feeds your hunger & quenches your thirst. And sometimes it tears you up inside. It rips you to shreds & you don't think you'll survive. It hurts. But you heal & eventually you go back for another bowl...

The most beautiful, painful, perfect, flawed, joyful, sorrowful feeling you will ever experience. The best part of being human. The most alive you will ever feel.

That is something people have been trying to answer from the dawn of time, or very nearly. Philosophers have tried. The best thing I can tell you is that love is what you feel toward someone, or something, which would cause you to die for that person, or thing.
Love is a warm, gushy feeling which you have around someone you feel is special, or toward something which you wouldn't like to do without.
The best example of Love is God(in the form of Jesus Christ)who loved you so much he was willing to die for you(so you wouldn't have to). Of course, the best answer I can give is to tell you wait until you have children. When you see that little baby for the first time...well, I still get tears in me eyes.

An intense feeling of deep affection, a person or thing that one loves, a score of zero in tennis, a chemical reaction, a flutter of the heart, all these things and none at the same time. Whatever really the one who uses the word wants it to mean.

This question is asked throughout the centuries. Try the Bible answer in 1Cor 13 (the word "charity" is used in some versions for love). It is a beautiful description. Love for another person is outgoing and unselfish, desiring good for the other.

Love is an emotion and an action. You can't force it and it is hard to control... and very hard to describe. Humans were created to love, but sometimes we mess up. Love comes from God.

Sorry to tell you, but it's just a chemical reaction for reproduction. Anything beyond that is purely subjective: Love is what you make of it.

What is love
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me,
No more...

Its a strong bond between two people that no one else can replace. Or it is a love of someone because they are your own flesh and blood. It is whatever you have in your life that you can never imagine without

An itch you can't scratch, an addiction with no cure, a balance, pain in the same instant as pleasure, joy in the same thought as sadness, AND MY FAVE QUOTE (mine), "Love is, even when it seems it isn't."
