how many actual Starwars film are there? 6? or 9?

if you can name them in order please, as i am puzzled if there were three more films, before Episode one, The Phantom Menace

There's only six, though Lucas had originally thought of nine, the original trilogy, a prequel and a sequel. The sequel trilogy will probably not be made.

The movies are
Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
Episode 4: Star Wars (A New Hope-retitled after it became successful and spurres the making of the rest of the trilogy)
Episode 5: Empire Strikes Back
Episode 6: Return of the Jedi

Episodes 4-6 were made before episode 1 and are much better.

well there are 6 starwars films but they did make some other movies that have like the same charicters.. like they made a movie with alot of ewoks however you spell it... it was called something like the battle for endor.... im not sure. it was a weird movie i havent watched since i was a kid... the main charicter was a little girl and i think that main ewok you saw in return of the jedi... they made other films starwars related tho. just look at the wikipedia link and scroll to the bottom
