My friends always ask me why I love music soo much and I always tell them because to me music is a door way to another world but I would like to know if it's from something different. Dose the brain have some sort of triger that goes off when it hears a serten tone or song or am I just really into music?????

No, I can sit and listen to a song and people will be talking to me and I wont hear them. Then I'll say sh*t like, "You know, that song's about..." and they'll be like "How do you know that?" I think music is a way to express yourself, you feel a certain way from certain songs. Even a classical song, I'll stop and listen and be mesmerized my the violins or flutes or the percussion. I agree that you are "just really into music," as am I. It takes a certain ear, though, to get something out of a song, and not just think its "cool."

I don't think it is totally the brain, I think it is our senses. When we hear something that is complimentary to our taste, all of our senses are arroused. You hear, feel, maybe see, and some people taste and smell the music say for instance if they are at a concert and the performer's sweat and tears fall on your face...LOL But, I think music triggers your senses that triggers your emotions, which triggers the want and sometimes need to experience music just to capture that feeling of arrousal again.

You maybe right about the brain Kyle, but I am thinking that it is our hearts that is/gets so intrigued with music. I love music myself, when I was younger and still this way today, when I am sad or something hurts me, I escape by listening to music

Music triggers emotions and memories (good and bad). It relaxes you and makes you want to get up and move around. I makes you want to sing out loud in the shower and in your car when you know you sound like a wounded cat. It makes you clap your hands and stomp your feet. In a movie scene it can make you cry like a baby or scare the hell out of you.

Music is very soothing to the soul.

Good music, of any genre, is simply poetry put to music and there is a poet in all of us.
