OK. I ordered this thing with PRIORITY MAIL. which means i paid so much more so i can get it soonder. The company already Shipped it, but they said that they only have the "electronic data" recieved. This is in California by the way where it is being shipped from, And it needs to make it over to MA in 2-3 days. and it better.
So, 3 days will land on tuesday, but they are closed tuesday. So, basically they only have Monday to get it to me, because on sunday they are closed right?
1. In CA, it is like 3:00 PM right? So is there a chance that they are still open, and maybe they will pick it up and put it on an airplane to Boston or something? I always see USPS mail being put on American Airlines flights.. I hope they do that with my packege tonight, so when they are closed tonight it at leist is flying over here to MA. So, it gets here tomorrow, but it's closed on sunday right? So, it will sit in the airport all night on sunday, but on monday they will pick it up,

BUT the main question: Is USPS open 24 hours a day or something?? They really should be if they expect to get things to people like me who can afford to give them more money to get it faster..

The only type of money back guaranteed delivery is express mail, which is delivered on Sundays and holidays. Priority mail has no such guarantee. Sorry, but unless your local PO is totally overloaded and does a special holiday parcel run you won't be seeing your item until at least Wednesday.

First of all, you paid for 2-3 BUSINESS day service. Not 2-3 days. That makes a big difference.

If something can be seen as having electronic data in the computer, there isnt much a person in an office can see. Either the package will meet the pickup time of that shipping area, or it will go the next business day. Theoretically it can be electronically in a computer at 3pm on a Monday and not be picked up by USPS for 2 days or more. Essentially, all that means is that a tracking label has been printed. Until a scan is done by USPS to show some movement, not much else can be established.

There is a chance it is on a plane, but there is just as big a chance it is not. You would have to call USPS and ask what they pick up time is for packages in the zip of the place where it is coming from. Since Monday is also a holiday, along with Tuesday being the funeral and President Bush has said no service that day....I dont think your package will get there until min. Wednesday.

Unfortunately there isnt much you can do at this point. Its frustrating for you and for the people that are at USPS. (they get lots of irate calls when business is disrupted by weather, holidays or other events like this)

There is no way to tell for sure. But most likely you will get it on Wednesday. They are not only closed Sunday and Tuesday, they are also closed Monday because of New Years Day. Most likely the mail still travels, it just doesn't get delivered on those days. So most likely you will get it Wednesday, but if not, then Thursday. BTW, most USPS offices stay open until 5:00 p.m.

I hope this answers your question.

Basically, the planes and ground transport of mail continues, just the post office retail counters and deliveries aren't going to happen.

Post Office tracking leaves much to be desired. If you're seeing "Electronic data received", your shipper may have already turned it over to USPS. USPS doesn't actually call their service "Tracking" when you're paying for it, just "Delivery Confirmation", and that's when they usually scan packages -- just at the final delivery.

Chances are you'll see your package on Wednesday, when the post office resumes deliveries.
