My 11 month old son has a really bad diaper rash. I called a doctor but he wasn't very informative. But he has blisters and a little bit of bleeding all over his bottom and little boy area, and it hurts him to have to go to the bathroom. We've tried a couple creams and nothing really seems to be working. Does anyone know of anything that works fast and relieves pain???

my son has eczema really bad and gets like that some times. We use Aveeno Hydrocortisone cream now. When he was little we used Dr. Smith's cream, it is expensive but well worth the money! If you think it is just a diaper rash I would say the Dr. Smith's and if not maybe try the Aveeno, it should clear it in a day.

If your baby's diaper rash persists and develops into a yeast infection, no amount of diaper rash ointment will make it go away. A yeast infection usually looks like a large reddened patch with several small red areas around it. Use an antifungal medication (the same medication used to treat athlete's foot) to kill the yeast. Your baby's pediatrician may also prescribe a steroid cream in certain cases. A yeast diaper rash will usually heal in about seven days with an antifungal medication

hope this helps

I tried everything with my son perscription type and all including letting him go witho a diaper. FInally out of desperation I tried a sample of a thing called "Flander's Buttox oinment" started working over night. I had to order it through Rite Aid but it took care of it and prolonged use prevented it from ever coming back.

Hello,

I would not use Desitin at all. That will make the rash worse and your baby will be in major pain.

My hubby and I use J&J No Rash Cream and Baby Boquet Diaper Balm for our twins and the rash and discomfort goes away quickly without anymore undue pain.

Hope this helps you.................. : - O

Try giving him a bath with a generous amount of baking soda in the water. I use this for any kind of rash my 10 month old gets. It works well and clears the rashes quickly. Let him play in the bath until he doesn't want to play any longer. You may also want to put some vasaline on to coat and protect him from the burning when he does pee.

Take him to the doc. Or Er. That doesn't sound right. Blisters? Bleedig? Definately something else causeing this. And if he's having trouble going pee or poo that's another BIG Issue. Get Professional Help. MAKE an Appointment or just go to the hosp.

this sounds really serious. all over the counter meds are for fair diaper rashes. anything with open sores or bleeding should be checked out by a doctor. if your doctor brushed you of, see another one! you need something prescribed.
good luck!

Use lotrimin or lamisil. They're for jock itch. After you put that on coat it really good with aquaphor, vasaline or A&D ointment...choose one. IT's good to give him a baking soda bath atleast 3 times a day. And leave the diaper off as much as possible.
