Out of all these, I've read "Pygmalion" and "The Crucible", both which, incidentally, have movies as well (I didn't pick them, for that reason, though- they were for school!). I did try to read "Death of a Salesman", because I heard it was fantastic and life-altering, but I really couldn't get into it. But people say it changes their minds about life after reading it.

I say you read Pygmalion. It's a very bright, funny, easy play to read, and was the basis for the musical "My Fair Lady" with Audrey Hepburn. It reads simply but it's rather absorbing, like something you'd read just for entertainment, but it has a deeper significance, too, for analyzing.

Enjoy whatever you choose to read!

I've only read Mousetrap and The Crucible. I enjoyed Mousetrap very much; it's not very long, but I don't know exactly how many pages. The Crucible was pretty good drama, but I never liked the way it sidestepped the important issues of how the Salem witch trials happened by adding 7-8 years to the girls' ages and making it about sex and jealousy.

Importance of Being Earnest is very funny, but it depends on what your sense of humor is like. I remember reading it in high school and laughing out loud in class. It's a good look at the social classes in England at the time Wilde was writing.
Glass Menagerie is great. It's not as depressing as a lot of Tennessee Williams stuff, it's semi-auto-biographical, and it has themes that you may find familiar...not fitting in, feeling self-conscious, family putting on airs to impress people, alienation, growing up,etc.
Little Foxes is one of those plays where you want to kill the evil people in it. I got really wrapped up in it , and I feel that's a sign of a good play, when you get emotionally involved.
Don't know if any of these will help. Good luck.

i've heard abt the crucible but i've never read it.however i have read Pygmalion; Importance of being earnest and glass menagerie.I have done the latter as part of my literature syllabus. It the shortest abt 75-80 pages and divided into 7 scenes.I nwud suggest u choose it coz u cd get loads of info on the book at www.sparknotes.com which will b useful for ur review. It's beautiful play, deep in meaning and full of symbolism.I like Laura best.
The real choice is up to you.if u pick any of the other books,i'm almost sure u'll find sumthing on them at www.sparknotes.com/literature.
Hope thie helps!

I would suggest "The Glass Menagerie" by Williams--it is an excellent play, and if you can find a video or DVD of the play, watch the one with Katherine Hepburn. I don't know what your assignment is -- but I think it is a play that most people can relate to. In addition, "Raisin In The Sun" is also excellent, and there are many good versions on VHS and DVD.

Honey, go to the library.. pick up "Our Town". You can see for yourself how many pages.. you can read the book and you can enjoy the plot and the characters and you can write your report. To try and do this the easy way will not do you any good. You are the one who has to answer to the teacher....your parents.. and, ultimately, yourself.. so don't rely on a group of strangers to give you answers that may or may not even be correct. Good luck.. "Our Town" is really a very very good book.

I have read them all-I have an MFA in Theatre and a PHD in English Lit. Most are plays and are quick reading if you are just reading them to get them done. But, most have a meaning that will take a careful look at to actually understand. Start with the Crucible - it deals with the McCarthy era and the Salem Witch Trials. Good Luck!

The Mousetrap is very good; its a mystery, so it should keep your interest. Our Town, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Pygmalion are good as well, depending on what you like.

Blythe Spirit is about a remarried widow whose dead wife comes back as a ghost and flirts, etc. with him in front of his new wife. The ghost is *much* more interesting than the
"live" woman.

If you want a quick and easy read, The Mousetrap is your best bet.
