Can the Ipod still play music when it is plugged into a wall charger, or is it like the computer and says "Do Not Disconnect", and doesn't allow you to do anything with it.

It can play while it's charging in the wall. It doesn't say "do not disconnect" while charging there.

yes, Ipod could still play music when charging using a wall charger.
Unlike charging with a USB cable, a "Do not disconnect" message is flashed on the Ipod screen while charging.

Yes it can. It only says "Do Not Disconnect" if you are updating it.

No, this means the iPod is updating and it is really saying, "Leave me alone!"
