if someone is put to death, is it really a punishment, they do not suffer (maybe in the us where they can be kept alive for 20yrs) but genuinly in most countries they are quickly put to death, isnt it better for them to be kept alive to suffer someway every day for the rest of their lives ?

Do you really believe that someone like Saddam has enough conscience to bother him/her?

The death penalty, IMO, is an "easy way out".

The person dies soon, but as for a real punishment--why not keep them in prison for the rest of their lives...now THAT is a punishment. They suffer mentally/emotionally--many people who are sentenced *want* to get the death penalty rather than stay in prison forever. That proves that the death penalty is an easy way out, at least to the culprits.

If I had to choose for myself between death and prison for life, I'd choose death! Ok, I agree it's easier to say while seated comfortably in my sofa. But I think the recent case of Moussaoui proves it: he did almost everything he could to be put to death. And I'm glad to see that it didn't work.

Death penalty is good enough for me it rids us of a monster. There's allot of hoopla before from the libbers then it's all over and in a month everyone forgets i mean how often have you thought about ''TOOKIE WILLIAMS'' remember, that's what i thought.

Nobody who was executed has ever gone on to kill a prison guard or cellmate, escaped and killed a family, etc. Can you say the same about someone given a life sentence?

In any case, death penalty is a crime perpetrated by the government.
