I am constantly drawn to this profession but don't know how to go about it. I have my BA in Sociology and plan to get my Masters in Counseling, but a Life Coach really intrigues me! Any info? Thank you.

Obviously your life would have to be superb before you can become a life coach. You go to a coach only if they have something to offer you.

Now for the not so obvious. Do you plan to start your own company or work for someone else? To begin, I would recommend that you go to work with someone else because of name recognition. Tony Robbins is by far the pre-eminent life coach in the world. Google him, ahem, do a yahoo search on him and you should be able to pull up his website. I believe it is tonyrobbins.com.

Each company has their own personal qualifications for Life Coaches and no two companies are the same.

I'll be honest with you. Most of life coaching is not psychology. Its basically what has worked for you and what you have discovered has worked for other people.

Do you mean a job coach...?

You can work with the disabled. You can go through an organization in which they belong...ie. special olympics and then see where they live and then ....if they are in housing..contact them....and so forth....
