I prefer reading short books under 400 pages. I love to read, but I am a bit of a slow reader and I get bored after 300 pages or so. I mainly like inspirational fiction or nonfiction, including biographies. I read Guideposts and Reader's Digest magazines regularly. I liked Rosa Park's autobio called A Quiet Strength. I am currently reading a fiction book called Thursday's Child by Linda Chaiken (sp?) which I am loving. It is really suspenseful. It's about a young married women in the 1940's who suspects her husband is a Nazi.

I like science fiction too. I even go to the World Science Fiction Convention but I can't afford to go to Japan this year.

Anything, but particularly good humor/satire, modern day fantasy (i.e. faeries, but in today's world), anything GLBTQI, science fiction thrillers a la Michael Crichton, and good, original YA books.

I am 56, and have been reading avidly since I was 5. I have read HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS of books - but the best for me will always be Iris Murdoch.
