my boyfriend says that he needs space but we he says he still wants to be with me...and he also smokes and that he told me that he needs to staighten his things out wat sould i do?what does that mean?

Well, does he smoke the wacky stuff? Sounds like he is up one minute and down the next. He does need space alright. Tell him to get his space and call you when he grows up.

I know it can be difficult because you love and care for him. The bottom line is that if he wants 'space' then that means that you shouldnt give him any more of your time. If you still sleep with him, then you are telling him that you dont deserve his respect as a woman.
It also sounds like he doesnt want to be serious with you and that is your cue to show him the door. What you want is very important and if all he can do is give you reasons why he cant be more commited to you, then he isnt thinking of how he can make your relationship work.
I know its hard to take but you need to respect yourself and let him go.

He sounds like he turned into a Player on you. He is stating he hates you to convince himself that it is o.k. to whore around. That alone should help you get over him. He has probably been messing around for a while and finally found someone who intrigues him. It also sounds like you two were not in a real developed/mature relationship, even though it had been such a long time. Depending on age, he may have out grown the relationship and I also understand that men have this thing, if you were his first, he must be getting bunches of advice from his buddies to hit something new before committing fully. That is what my Dad told my brothers. He told them to hit it all and experience it before exiting options, gaining the experience and knowledge from these experiences to be able to know what they really want before they commit for life. * Which hardly happens anymore anyway.

Sorry to say this but the last time I got the "I need some space" speech it was right before the man left me.
Could also be that fatherhood has him a a bit scared. Good luck.

He probably just needs some time to figure out where he wants your relationship to go. As stupid as it may sound, buy him a six pack of Samuel Adams and leave it in his fridge with a bow.
If he has any class at all, he will let you know what is going on.

if a guy tells you he needs space it means he doesn't want to be with you, and that is just an excuse. If you love someone you want them by your side, sorry he's not that into you.

He sounds like a flake to me. Tell him to leave you alone until he knows that he wants you. Don't get strung along until he can get it together. His words are code for...I'd like to sleep with you still but I don't want to date only you. If that isn't what you want, move on and stand firm. You need someone who knows you are "it".

if your pregnant and he tells you he needs space then you need to consider how much this man means to you. he needs to face up to responsibilty if he didn't want a baby he could use rubber. if he leaves you ova this you dont need him
