Bob- I appreciate the opinion with Haliburton, we could had chose not to use them and use the bidding process which then we would select the lowest bidder-> Those are the only two options. Before the Gulf war the United nations made many resolutions telling Saddam to stop creating and to destroy any WMD which he continually refued to do and refused to allow inspectors to inspect weapons facilities. Even when we had troops waiting to attack he still refused to comply. If there were no WMD why did the NY times report that the Government accidentally put Nuclear information on how to build a bomb on the net - it was from Iraq. My belief is if there is smoke then there is fire.

a quick poll...

How many here have a Yale undergrad degree? A Yale MBA? Any MBA?

How many here have owned a pro baseball team?

How many here have been elected as the governor of Texas, beating a world-class politician like "Ma" Richards?

How many here have been combat certified for a USAF fighter jet?

Bush got higher grads at Yale than Kerry. Bush's grades at Yale were higher than Al Gore's college grades too.

You are missing the whole point. Each of us have at least a slightly different version of what is good for the country. I remember hearing once when I was much younger that what is good for GM is good for the country. So now I ask, is what is good for Halliburton good for the country? . Because that seems to be the mission statement for Bush & Co. Halliburton's profits are up way over 1000% (that is thousand) since the start of the Iraq War while the US Treasury is being run into bankruptcy. Our military budget is more than the rest of the world's, combined. The IAEA Weapons Inspectors told us point blank that Bush was wrong about WMD as he used it as an excuse to start the war, & the CIA also debunked any Iraqi/al Qaida link at that time. This was in our newsmedia at the time, even if was was on section B, page 12 or the 11 PM news.

You can blindly follow the lead of our proven liar President if you wish, but please stay out of the way of us who are trying to right some of his wrongs.

so... no one should ever dare question the government in any action they take?

in my opinion... your question illustrates why it's all the more important to ask questions...

how can all those intelligence agencies be wrong? how can those presidents defend their actions, when many had the knowledge to refute their actions?

I'm not a "government knows best" kind of person... I don't exactly think they are out to get me... but there have been many that have had their own reasons for their actions, other than "what's best for the country"...

Nixon as you mention... was he doing what he thought was best for the country when he bugged the hotel? In my opinion, that would be both horribly naive and extremely dangerous to believe...

but hey.. .it's a free country...

For the most part the presidents did what the they felt was right. The problem is not everybody in this nation don't agree with the choices that the presidential administration decided on.
