There are so many out there. Yeah, AVG Free worked great, (for a year) but it is a trail thing I guess and it won't allow me to uninstall AVG. So for a FREE download it does work on anti virus and such. But now I get pop-ups saying "Installation error" like 5 times everytime I turn my computer on. I tried Spybot, the same AVG message wont go away. Web root, doesn't work either. I bought $84 McAfee 5-in-1, the AVG still pops up. So beware of FREE anti virus downloads. Apparently even purchased anti virus/spyware won't get rid of AVG FREE. Additional note: I read "Classic" responce about SUPERantispyware and am down loading it now to see if it can help me out. I will let you know. 36 minutes and counting..... Problem still there! Reboot effort made no changes. I would NOT use SUPERantispyware!

That is definitely not Spybot Search and Destroy. You have been misled by a copycat. It sounds like you have something like Spywarebot or Spyware Doctor. Remove it and get the original here.

or here.

A common technique for scams and spyware is to masquerade as legitimate anti-spyware software.
For example, spybot is popular because it is so effective at removing spyware. Hence, you have scams that involve clones, fakes, etc. of spybot. If it asks you for money, it's a fake.

That is the spybot site.

I don't know what you got, but Spybot Search & Destroy is free.
Go here and get the right download. You might want to uninstall whatever you have and get the right version.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
After you get the right version and get it installed, then immunize your computer against all known threats that SpyBot has, and that's currently over 11,000. I've used SpyBot for 3 years and wouldn't be without it on my computer.
