I ask this because I heard the song after my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.I think the song has a good point. Don't give up and do everything.

My husband has alot of things he wants to do. I'm trying to make it possible for him to do everything he can.I personally try to make a difference in the lives of as many children as I can. I work with children who have many different disabilities.

On my sons 2nd birthday found out he had cancer, Retnoblastoma. He had an eye removed and he is fine now but I still find myself trying to be in his shoes. I dont think I would live like I was dying. I would do things that would make a difference for others not myself. To die knowing I was able to make kids happy that are also dying that dont have the chance to get out and do what I have done. Thats is living like your dying.
A good example would be showing up at a childrens hospital with a Playstation3 and make my rounds. When I was done I could die with a memory of a whole lot of smiles to remember. That would feel better to me than going out skydiving or something. Create good moments for others before your gone, leave your mark.
I like Tim McGraw but face it, country music is based on dispare.
I hope your husband, you, and friends and family cope, and I am sorry this has happened. You are right, dont give up but he cant do everything so just do the things that do make the best.
Good luck to you both

I have been thinking of this question seriously for the past 5 yrs when I had a dear friend whom I loved and my mother died a yr later. I like that song also by Tim McGraw. What I have been wanting to do is make a CD for my children and grandchild about how much they have meant to me during my life and nothing Negative in these CD because life is negative enough at times. I have been telling them more and spending more time with them that they are the most important people in my life. I am a major depressant so I feel I can make lives a little depressing for everyone and that is not my intention, but I am giving my wisdom and pray for the best. When it comes to others, I am wanting to turn around and give back the good others have given me thought out my life. I have had many blessing just sometimes forget them. God has been the strongest part in my life and hope to get my children to see how important he can be in there also. Work in-progress.

I'm sorry to hear that. I wouldn't do any of those things like sky diving though. I'd spend all my time with my family, trying to prepare them the best i could.

It's said that first your reaction is disbelief, then shock, then anger, and then resignation of the inevitable. I'd liek to think I'd be able to enjoy my last days, but who knows? Life around you still has to go on, and it depends on your financial situation as to what you could do to enhance your situation too.

I like that song too. All I would do is spend it with my family and friends. Kiss the guy I like.

As much as I could..
Once we had to write our epitaph:
Mine was tried dying, and died trying
Basically because I was known for having a sense of adventure

I wouldn't live any differently than I am right now......why would you? We are all dying the second we are born.......
I am reading these and thinking....."why not do that right now, why wait for something to happen to you....."
People....why wait to "talk to God", why wait to "spend time with family", why wait to "prepare your family"
DO IT NOW!!!!
