I have a PSP, and the graphics are approximately the same as the Nintendo Gamecube (depending on the game). Some games look like Gameboy, others look like XBOX (for example, Need for Speed: Most Wanted). The Performance is amazing, i recommend NBA Live 07 and Madden 07.

The graphics are awesome and the video quality is superb, I actually got a shock as to how good it was when I first got mine.
Its hard to say if they are comparable to ps1 or ps2 as I don't have a ps2 but I did have a ps1 and I would say the graphics on the psp are better but in saying that it's hard to tell now as I am currently playing ps1 games on my PSP now.

the psp graphics are very like the ps2, i own one, it has surprisingly good graphics, and a good variety of games, it is very powerful, you can do more than just games, you can play music, watch videos, view pictures and even go on the internet. it would be a really good buy for you!

mip is wrong... the graphics display on the nintendo 3ds has been improved dramatically to almost be the equivalent of the gamecube. and as u know, the gamecube has better graphics than the ps2. im surprised that nintendo has actually improved the ds greatly to equal or even surpass the psp (considering the nintendo 3ds barely has its prototype revealed) so for all we know, the nintendo 3ds may be superior for once.
