I'm going to lasercut a piece of acrylic in a star-petal shape and then bend the petals up to form a flower. What is the best tool to form the acrylic into a natural flower shape?
The oven doesn't work because I can't bend the piece fast enough before it cools and if i put it back in to reheat, it will revert back to a flat sheet.
I tried a heat gun but its a little slow and doesn't heat well. Sometimes I crack the acrylic.
Can I use a plumber's torch to do this? Will it burn the acrylic?
Can I just put the torch in a vice and leave it on continously while I heat and bend the acrylic at local points until im done?

the torch is going to cause bubbles in the acrylic. there is a tool put out by metabo it is a heat gun but operates at a higher heat level. i hope this was helpful.

Any open flame is likely to burn the plastic.
