i offered a house that had carpet that have been wiped sparkling/deodorized and that i did no longer come across the particleboard subfloor urine staining (and effective stink) till removing the carpet to place in prefinished hardwood flooring. The particleboard subfloor decking replaced into so crammed with dried urine that it replaced into swollen and disintegrrated previous the factor of having the flexibility to hold flooring nails. I had to change it - I used 3/4" B-C plywood. a minimum of the swelling and disintegration made it rather basic to do away with. i'd hate to attempt it with a extremely urine-stained & pungent plywood or stable wood sub. as quickly because it replaced into bumped off all of the smell went out the door. till the youngsters and canines have been "writing their names in the snow" on the partitions, the stink is in the subfloor decking. The undesirable information is that in case you in basic terms positioned carpet over it returned the stench will nevertheless be there, tremendously for those of the 4-legged persuasion. in case you're no longer as much as ripping out the subfloor decking your self get a flooring contractor. additionally they'll cart away all of the pungent mess.
