I watched Rudolph when I was a kid and now my kids watch it, but we could never figure out what was wrong with the doll. All the other misfit toys had obvious problems. Anyway, just curious if anyone else ever wondered or figured it out.

I have since discovered on the Wikipedia website, that the rag doll is thought to have a "psychological problem rather than physical one

I was wondering that myself. My daughter & I only noticed that she didn't have a nose-not that it mattered. We didn't think she was a misfit at all.

Misfit Doll (voiced by Corinne Conley) is an unnamed, but seemingly normal girl rag doll. Her presence on the island is never explained. Though one accepted reason is that the problem is somewhat psychological. Another possibility, as the doll mentions in her song "Even a doll that says 'how do you do'", this could mean that the doll is a misfit because she can actually talk without pushing buttons or pulling a string, and probably had vocal cords and everything.

Bumbles to the rescue!!! (bumbles trips.... rolls over a penguin... farts, and stands up) The doll had no nose and said "How do you do" I was just on the Island of misfit toys.

she has no nose...I actually gave the doll to my niece for Christmas and was looking at it...that is the only thing I saw missing.

Maybe because she was made of checkered fabric. After all the elephant was there because he had polka-dots. Remember.
