Last i checked, fire drills were meant to be a form of training in case of a real fire emergency. If during the fire drills the whole school doesn't do anything, then something is not right. But I don't think your principal meant what he/she said.

no, that's definitely not true and actually pretty weird. the reason schools have fire drills is because it is required by the state. they are supposed to have one once a month to make sure that the alarm system is working and also to ensure that if there were to be a real fire, the staff and students know what to do and can exit the building as quickly as possible.

Whatever your brother says is NOT true. The reason we have fire drills in school is to prepare us in case if their is a real fire and fire drills helps us practice how we should act and how we should behave during the drill

Lol they're just playing with you.
The real reason we have fire drills is so that we can ditch the teacher
BUT SERIOUSLY NOW: We practice fire drills so that we know what to do in the case of a real fire. But I still like my answer better...▲

Now that is funny. I'd agree with the principle and also that the teachers just want all the kids to get the fresh air so they can make it through the rest of the school day.

We have fire drills at school so you know what you are supposed to do in case of a real emergency. If there were a fire, you would already know all the rules to keep yourself safe.
In short, it's to protect you.

I don't know if you're telling the truth or not, but fire drills were invented to scare little Marge Simpson (then Bouvier).
