Yes and no. He did deserve to die a most horrific death, however, I feel that we (the USA) could have used his knowledge to aid us in fixing what is wrong with the middle east. By working with us, we might have had to make some type of agreement with him, but lets face it; sometimes you have to make a pact with the devil to get things done.

His knowledge of his contry would have helped us emensley! He knows of every nook and cranny, every weak spot, and so on. He's also Musliam and that might of helped as well send the message that we are not out to harm them.

I think Saddam certainly deserved to be executed, but because of the trouble it might cause, It might have been better to put him in prison for life with no chance of parole. On the other hand, not executing him might have caused a lot of trouble from those who wanted him dead.Perhaps they should have waited at least a little longer to see if there might be a better solution than hanging him

Now we are talking about hanging as the start to Iraq's democracy. First of all, are we not trying to push for the laws that would outlaw the death penalty? Haven't all the developed countries talked about that? When we talk about Americans we are for this law, but whenever it's some outsider that didn't agree with US Gov-t, we are OK hanging people. Saddam did bad things, I agree 100%, but I think lifetime imprisonment would've been the right example to everyone about how much USA cares about the lives and peace...

No. It doesn't matter how evil someone is, they shouldn't be put to death. Killing people is always wrong, even if that person is a murderer himself. Stooping to the level of murder does not help anything, and only adds to the death toll. All it does is prove that people never learn. It's almost 2007, for crying out loud, and we're still wondering if hanging people is morally right?

Saddam Hussein was a very bad human being. Killing him is a sin. I don't believe in revenge, it only perpetuates evil. How can we make sure that another very bad human being, doesn't get that much power again? I don't see how, we can only try. Stop the killing, please. Happy New Year.

Does Bush PHYSICALLY kill people because he is hated or even knows he could be assasined??? Does Bush cause his own country to be in daily battle within its country?? Was executing Timothy McVeigh the right thing to do? If you live by the righteous sword expect to die by the righteous sword.

I don't think so.
In my honest opinion, that's like a mother seeing her own child hit another child, and the mother hitting her child as punishment. It makes no sense.
It's like, oh.. he killed people, so let's kill him!
And since when do humans have the right to judge who lives and who dies?
It just doesn't seem right.
I KNOW of the HORRIBLE things he did to so many innocent people, but I just don't agree with how they handled it.

Well, he was responsible for 1,000,000 people's deaths, as well as a war that started with his invasion of Iran in the 1980's and has yet to end.

If anyone deserves the death penalty, this is the guy.

No no no. Killing Saddam is a sign of more violence in Iraq and more death of U.S troops. It's not going to change anything believe you me. But let God be the judge not us. Learn to forgive one another and not bear grudges against each other.
