He insisted on wearing that suit instead of his prison clothes. And they put the scarf around his neck to minimize damage to the body.

They probably didn't want the rope marks on his neck after he died - you know, less damage to the body as possible. And the clothes, jacket is is more because it was early morning when that happened so, it probably was chilly. They probably just wanted to save him some face in his last moments. To die dignified.

I just asked this same question. (About the scarf) I have no idea. I have been wondering the same thing.
I heard (I haven't seen pics yet) that his neck is all bruised and purple now anyway.

hmm interesting. hang him with a scarf on because he is cold. thats like putting on a bullet proof vest after you have been shot. reduce marks almost sounds like a farce
