I was recommended by one of the board of directors to sing in the masterworks chorale? is there any protocol that i need to follow or expect for the audition?

Dress like for a job interview. You'll need to sing two contrasting songs, usually one in a foreign language and one in English. Bring your music in a binder for the accompanist, in the order you're going to sing them and in the correct key. Be prepared to sight-read something at the level of what the choir normally sings. For further details, ask the person on the board who recommended you what else you need to be prepared for.

Be prepared to sightread some musical passages. Probably also sing scales. I have never auditioned for Masterworks, but I have auditioned for a local opera choral...
