I'm looking for a better and healthier way to contraception. I heard about the Lady-Comp.. .and have read only good reviews. Any bad ones out there? I want to get a full circle of facts. It's a matter of sanity! I refuse to use condoms for the rest of my life, and don't want to get cut either since I'm still "young" and it has been known to have bad results.

This is a modern day version of the natural birth control. It measures your temperature and when there is a rise in the temperature it is indicative of ovulation. Remember the egg lives approximately 24-48 hours. Sperm lives 4 days. So in using the Lady Comp method you might have been sexually active 2 days before your ovulation and then your temperature rises because you're ovulationing. You'd still get pregnant because the sperm are still there and still active. Same goes for the after ovulation. You might think you're safe but you wouldn't be.
There's another methid that works more for someone who wants to get pregnant, butit also can work for avoiding pregnancy. If you have a normal 28 day cycle ...count forward from the first day of your period for 12 days (mark your calendar) then count backwards from the 28th day for 9 days...(mark your calendar) Tat time betrween your 12th day and the 19th day is your fertile period.

Well the information that I read says that its reliable but I really think that it would only be that way if you have normal periods once a month. If you don't have a regular cycle I don't see how it would work effectively.
Are you married or do you have a long term sex partner? If you aren't or don't I wouldn't recommend stopping using condoms. There are worse things out there then pregnancy, like HIV and herpes.
