One way is to purchase Chilton on your vehicle at auto zone or Just dive in and put all part back together like you took them apart with the exception of adding gasket sealer. Not a hard job for a close friend if you know a shade tree mechanic.

I have had my water pump go multiple times, usually the barring. Get yourself a manuel and take it apart slowly. Buy the new pump... reseal it in the casing with the new gasket (take your time on this, make sure its a good seal) and then rebuild by doing the exact opposit. The hardest part will be dealing with tight fitting parts.

The hardest part is getting the old one off. Get a repair manual. By the way if it;s not leaking coolant it's not broke. Overheatig is not caused by water pumps unless they leak all the coolant from your engine. I'm just guessing as you didn't state your problem
