Did Elvis get a state funeral?

Maybe he did not get a state funeral but the flags were lowered for his funeral. I am from Augusta, GA. and he had a big funeral held at the James Brown Arena. It was named for James Brown.He did alot for the poor people and alot of people will miss the man.

State funerals are only for presidents and people like that...congressmen, state representatives, senators, cabinet members, supreme court judges....people like that.

i do believe state funerals are for those who have been in "public service"
