how can your earring fall down the drain?
anyways, if its a cheap plastic/fake gold or silver earring, its not worth getting it. it'll just give you an ear infection and it'll be real dirty.
but on the other hand, if it was an expensive real one, just dont open the faucet. unscrew the pipes and it'll probably be there. if not. im sorry and TOO BAD.
whatever happens, happens. theres no way to miraculously get it back. unless it goes into the ocean, a fish swallows it, the fish is caught and sold to the supermarket, you go to the supermarket and buy that fish, you go home and chop that fish open and what do you know?! the earring's in there!

If you look under the sink, you'll see where the pipe bends at the bottom. Usually if you drop something down the sink, you'll find it in that bend. Place a large bowl or pot under the bend and unscrew the threads on each end of the bend (You will probably need a pipe wrench). Let the water drain into the bowl, dump the contents of the bent pipe into the bowl, then feel around for your earring in the water.

Yes, if there is a trap under the sink. Just unscrew the nuts on both sides of the trap and the earring should be in the trap. Don't run any water though this sink until you check the trap.
Good Luck

Yes ... you need to disassemble the 'J' trap. Usually, you just need a pipe wrench to undo the large nuts on the pipe under the sink. The 'J' trap is the loopy looking thing in the drain, under the sink. If you undo the large nuts on the pipe above it and below it, you can remove the trap and get whatever is stuck in there out. It's pretty simple ... good luck!

Take a ponytail holder, the kind with no metal on it, and pull it apart so you have a nice string (or find another durable string) and stick it through one of the circles in an earing back and tie a secure knot. Take a chewed piece of gum and stick it to the earing back. Fish it down the drain and get that earing back!

you should be able to...put a bucket under the drain because there's still water in there, unscrew the drain, let all the water come out, check inside the pipe and in the water...i've done this a lot, any problems just email!
