No question he was the originator of it much more than king it was his music that created disco,hip hop,rap,funk and some rock and all the greats such as Jagger,Vandross,Mcdonald,Richie and the Beatles will tell you who was the greatest entertainer and musician of the 50-80s and he will be atop the list for all around show.Most entertainers cant play an instrument to save there life or write music much less read it and thats what seperated Mr. Brown he DID IT ALL.

i believe he was the king of soul........ i loved to hear him sing. He is up there with the best, like Chuck Berry and Elvis Prestley. Each one of those men made it to the top.
