I have an 85 Nissan 300zx. It has been sitting for a long time (approximately 3 years outside since I received it, about 5 years inside storage prior).

When I reached the 5th spark plug well, there seemed to be calcium or some type of deposit covering the lug portion of the plug. At first I thought it was part of the plug, but it only formed in a broken half moon shape. Hence, assuming it's a deposit.

My question is how would I get it out? Would it be safe using wd-40 or something to break up the deposit in the well? Or should I try to dig it out myself? Or heck, has anyone even heard of this problem before? Not sure what to do, but I want to get the car up and running.

Carbon build up, probably from burning a little oil in that cylinder, clean it off with a wire brush or a spark plug cleaner or just drop some new plugs in it.

Terminal on the plug wire corroded, spay it down with WD 40, scrap it out with a screwdriver or something in order to get a socket on it to remove the plug becareful not to let the corrosion fall into the cylinder, replace the plugs, coat the thread with anti seize before installing new plugs, i would replace the spark plug wires

Sounds to me like deposits left by rain or some other water entering the engine compartment while it has been sitting.
